Case Study - New York University

The Overview

New York University consist of 25 Colleges spread over three main campus in New York City, Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. With 45,000 students, 5,000+ staff, NYU has a wide range of promotional and branded product needs from a diverse group of universities departments, student groups, alumni, staff, volunteers, events and others.

The Problem

Previously with each department purchasing from different suppliers their were frequent complaints of inconsistent product quality, poor logo reproduction, high prices, unsafe products and an inefficient ordering and payment process.

The Solution

In an effort to leverage their overall promotional products spend, streamline the purchasing process and standardize their brand , NYU contracted Inkwell Global Marketing to develop a comprehensive branded products program including an online ordering platform that was easy to use and integrated with NYU’s SCIQUEST based procurement platform.

Inkwell designed the merchandise collection and built an easy to use ordering e-store. The e-store is fully integrated with NYU systems and enables NYU finance and procurement personnel to monitor and measure all promotional product activity and expenses. Included with the Integration to Sci-quest, Inkwell initiated EDS ordering and invoicing. The entire purchasing process is now 100% paperless, with simplified functionality.

To support this e-store, Inkwell appointed an account management team to work hand and hand with NYU buyers. Our team works closely with the buyers to make the purchasing process simple and fast. Our team conduct webinars, email campaigns and frequent face to face meetings with key stakeholders.

As a result of the partnership, NYU has recognized significant cost savings due to lower prices, improved efficiency and tighter process.

Buyers now have access to a team of product experts, graphic designers and marketing experts to discuss their project, request samples and provide assistance with reproducing the NYU logos and brands. This be-spoke program encompasses the entire University network and is an invaluable tool used daily covering a wide range of needs.
