What You May Not Know About Outdoor Promotional Products

Outdoor promotional products aren’t just for the summer! Customers can benefit from them in the fall and winter, too. This is a time for football games, ice skating, tree lighting festivals, and winter sports. There are plenty of opportunities for people to be outdoors, so don’t let this time of the year slip past you!

Here are a few things you probably didn’t know about outdoor promotional items and how they can be used to spruce up your holiday marketing campaign.

You can coordinate the giveaway with your event.

With indoor promotional items such as pens, lanyards, and keychains, people tend to stick them in their bags and continue on their way. They don’t have an immediate use for them as they do with outdoor items. Consider some of the events you will be attending and how your promo merchandise can make it more enjoyable. The right items will be used immediately, such as a snug hat or hand warmers to keep cozy.

You have a larger imprint area to work with.

The majority of outdoor promotional merchandise is larger, which means you get a bigger area to work with. Consider hats, gloves, umbrellas, travel mugs, and duffle bags. What they have in common is a more generous area to feature your brand name and logo. If you set up a booth at a fall festival and attendants see people walking around with warm gloves, they won’t miss your brand name!

You can be relevant when your customers are spending time outside.

The best giveaways are those that are immediately useful and relevant. If you have an audience that enjoys being outdoors, they will form a positive connection by having your swag on hand. Imagine a prospect who goes sledding and has your cotton hat to keep warm or your stainless steel mug for their hot chocolate. This makes them feel like your brand “gets” them and a positive association is made.

You can stay on budget by alternating your outdoor items.

Outdoor promo merchandise can be more expensive than other items. If you’re a small business owner on a tight budget, consider handing out smaller items (sunglasses, ice scrapers, etc.) to the general crowd and more expensive items (sweatshirts, utility backpacks, etc.) to your top prospects. This way, everyone gets something with your name on it and you can stay within your budget.

If you have a holiday campaign you are excited about, don’t forget to enhance it with outdoor promotional products. The days may be shorter and colder, but that doesn’t mean that people stop spending time in nature. Tap into the outdoor spirit and shower your prospects original, useful products this fall and winter.
